2D Cutout Animation Workshop
Workshops Activities
In this workshop, the participants either devise or take a well-known story and work out how to tell that through a series of shots – much like a comic book. The groups will draw characters, colour them in and cut them out to become movable puppets ready to animate. They will design the backdrops on large paper, creating the perfect scenery for their puppets before bringing the whole story to life in a short, fun and highly colourful animation.
This workshop is ideal for younger children as it takes elements and skills they are already accustomed too such as drawing, colouring and cutting out, and then introduces basic concepts around animation such as movement, arcing, timing and exaggeration.
Who can take part?
This workshop is for +6 children, school groups, college groups, youth groups, groups with disabilities and SEN, young adult groups, community groups, parties, team-building days.
What materials we bring?
We provide all the production equipment such as lights, cameras and sound recording devices. Laptops with animation software included, plus various arts and craft materials including paper, card, colouring pencils, butterfly clips and more.
